About the Founder
In 1997, I traveled to Ecuador for the first time with John Perkins and Dream Change to visit the Yachaks of the High Andes and the Uwishin of the Shuar tribe in the heart of the Amazon rain forest. There I made a promise, in a powerful vision, to the Spirit of the jungle who flew me over the jungle canopy. I promised to help it survive the onslaught of the encroaching Western civilization, to help preserve its vast spiritual and medicinal knowledge, and to learn from the keepers of its wisdom.
In 2007 ten years later, www.shamanportal.org was born to fulfill that promise. Last year I made a promise to my teacher Don Jose Joaquin Pineda, to create an organization and bring the people of the North to meet the Yachaks in their own homes. I am thrilled that other shamans, many teachers of mine as well, enthusiastically embraced our vision, and that you will be joining us.
The Andes Summit is part of my effort to keep those promises and to share them with like-minded members of our global shamanic and Earth honoring community.
I want to thank the members of my group, the New York Shamanic Circle, for their support and inspiration throughout those long years.
Join me in the consciousness revolution we are all part of, and in creating a strong global shamanic community for the sake of humanity and future generations.
